Corneal Reshaping (Orthokeratology)

In simple terms Orthokeratology (Ortho-K) is the science of gently changing the curvature of the surface of the eye to correctly focus the light entering the eye.

Ortho-K is a non-surgical procedure that uses specialized lenses which act like a retainer to reshape the surface of the eye. It received FDA approval with no age restrictions in 2002.

The result is freedom from eyeglasses and day-time contact lenses. To learn more click here.

LASIK and PRK

Sometimes the best solution for your vision problems might be surgical. LASIK or PRK are very similar procedures which use a cold laser technology to reshape the cornea.

A reshaped cornea brings light into focus on the retina to provide improved vision. The reshaping is permanent but since eyes will continue to grow and change in some cases an ‘touch up’ treatment is sometimes required.

With so many providers of LASIK and PRK in the area it can be very challenging to find the right surgeons for your eyes. Eyecare Elements has been working closely with trusted surgeons in the Bellevue area for many years.

Our doctors will evaluate the condition of your eyes and then put our expertise to work finding the best surgeons for you.
